This watercolor illustration was created for the Book Illustration course at the Art Institute of Dallas. Everything was colored and inked by hand. I was randomly assigned an animal to anthropomorphize, which was the kangaroo. Playing off a fun rhyme, I intended this book to help children cope with grief or any unfortunate time in their lives and let them know that their feelings are valid. It's okay to be sad, and it will all pass in time.
